Getting started

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works without one, and your list stays on your phone. A free account adds sync across devices and a backup. When you create one, what you've already added comes with you.

How do I add a trial, deal or bill promo?

Tap the + in the middle of the tab bar. Type it in with Enter manually, or let DealKeeper read it with Take photo, Choose from gallery or Choose a file. A screenshot of the sign-up email usually works best.

Reminders

When do reminders arrive?

3 days and 1 day before a promo ends, at 9:00 in your phone's time zone, unless you change it. Change the days and the time in Settings › Reminders. DealKeeper keeps reminding you about an ended promo until you answer “I cancelled” or “I'm keeping it”.

I'm not getting notifications

Check that notifications are on for DealKeeper in your iPhone's Settings › Notifications › DealKeeper, and that Push notifications is on in DealKeeper's Settings › Reminders. Focus modes can hold notifications back. Without an account, reminders are scheduled on your phone, so they still arrive offline.

How does the calendar option work?

Turn on Calendar in Settings › Reminders. DealKeeper creates its own “DealKeeper” calendar (in iCloud, for example) with an all-day event on each promo's end date and an alert on each reminder day, and keeps it up to date. Some accounts, such as Google or Outlook, don't let apps add a calendar; then you pick one of your calendars and DealKeeper adds only its own events there. It never reads or changes your own events. Turning the option off removes what DealKeeper added.

Can I get reminders by email?

Not yet. Email reminders aren’t being sent at the moment, so use notifications or the DealKeeper calendar: turn them on in Settings › Reminders.

Scanning documents

What can I scan?

A photo or screenshot (JPEG, PNG, HEIC or WebP) or a PDF of up to 5 pages, at most 10 MB. Sign-up emails, receipts, invoices and contracts all work. You always check the details before anything is saved.

How many scans can I do?

10 a day and 60 a month, the same for everyone, with or without an account or ad-free. Days and months reset at midnight UTC. When you've used the day's scans you can watch one short ad for 5 more, once a day. Typing a subscription in is always unlimited.

It says “Can't scan on this device” or “Scanning is busy”

Can't scan on this device: every scan proves it comes from the genuine DealKeeper app on a genuine iPhone or iPad. This fails on simulators and on modified devices, and sometimes after restoring a backup onto a new phone. Update DealKeeper and try again; you can always enter the details yourself.

Scanning is busy: the scanning service has reached its limit for the day. Try again tomorrow.

What happens to my document?

It's uploaded to our server, read by Google's Gemini AI service, and deleted from our server straight away, whether the scan works or not. We keep only the details it found, with a coded fingerprint of the file (never the file itself), for 30 days, so scanning the same file again is instant. A copy stays on your phone, attached to the subscription, until you delete it. Crop out anything you'd rather not share.

Ad-free and purchases

What does “Remove ads forever” do?

One payment removes the banner, the ad when you open the app, and the ad on the scanning screen. It's never a subscription. The optional ad you can watch for extra scans is still offered, because you choose it.

How do I restore my purchase?

Go to Settings › Support DealKeeper › Restore purchase, signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID you bought it with. With a DealKeeper account, ad-free also follows you to every device you sign in on.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We never see your payment details.

Your account and data

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings › Account › Delete account. Your account and every subscription, reminder and setting in it are deleted from our servers straight away, and removed from the phone. It can't be undone. If you used Sign in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm once more so we can give up access to your Apple ID. An ad-free purchase belongs to your App Store account; “Restore purchase” brings it back.

Can't sign in any more? Email privacy@dealkeeper.app from the address on the account and we'll delete it for you.

I don't have an account. How do I delete my data?

Settings › Privacy › Delete my data deletes your subscriptions, reminders, scanned copies and DealKeeper calendar from the phone, and your scan ID and its scan history from our servers, if you've scanned. Your language, theme and an ad-free purchase stay.

I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen tap Forgot password? and open the emailed link on the same phone. It can take a few minutes; check your spam folder too.

What happens when I sign out?

Your subscriptions stay safe in your account and come back when you sign in again. The phone's copy, its scheduled reminders and the DealKeeper calendar are removed. Scanned copies lived only on the phone, so they go too.

Ads and privacy

How do I change my ad privacy choices?

Where the law requires it (for example in the UK and the EU), DealKeeper asks before showing ads. Change your answer any time in Settings › Privacy › Manage ad privacy choices. Ads are always non-personalised.

I saw an inappropriate ad

Tap the ad's AdChoices icon to hide or report it to Google, and email us at support@dealkeeper.app with a screenshot if you can. We'll block it.

Can I turn off usage statistics and crash reports?

Yes: Settings › Privacy › Share anonymous usage & crash reports. They are never linked to your account or email.
